The River District
The River District is a segment of stores in Franklin, Tennessee that runs along the Harpeth River. This brand was therefore created as a way to identify which shops were a part of the River District. An assortment of branded marks were created to be used as signs or stickers for the stores to put on their windows.
The Primary Mark
The primary mark was created to resemble a vintage sign. The icon features the Harpeth River as well as the sections of roads that are considered part of the River District. The typeface as a custom manipulation that has a retro feeling to it much like the River District itself. I wanted to show that this is a historic part of Tennessee well worth exploring.
The Brand Emblem
In addition to the primary mark, I wanted the stores to have an emblem. These could be handed out to customers as a reminder of where the shop is located. I kept with the uniqueness of the brand and made the mark into the shape of a shield. This showcases the strength and unity of the River District and those that are a part of it.
The Brand Identity
The design process of branding The River District also included a variety of typographic marks, as well as a circular submark which could be used on signs outside the stores. Overall, this classic branding truly encompasses the beauty of this area of Franklin, Tennessee. It was an absolute pleasure to be involved in something as special as this project.
