Olivia Olive Oil

One of my recent branding projects, Olivia Olive Oil, allowed me to tap into a new style. In the past, I hadn’t involved hand lettering and font manipulation in my designs. I wanted to highlight my fluidity as an artist and take an approach that I normally wouldn’t take. Stepping out of my comfort zone, I made this brand identity for an olive oil company. Each element of the brand was carefully thought out and constructed.

The Brand Marks

Before this, I had only done small branding projects with typefaces that hadn't been customized. I was always envisioning the logos I would make, so this opportunity meant a lot to me. Creating elements that would make Olivia Olive Oil stand out from its competitors was a big factor for me. This is especially needed when you’re trying to establish your brand. I chose to incorporate an olive and the element of dripping oil into the word marks. I also felt it was important to have a variety of marks depending on where they were to be used.

I created the brand marks in a way where they would have instant recognizability. If you were to see this on store shelves, your eyes would immediately be drawn to Olivia Olive Oil over the others.

The Patterns

The brand patterns were created with various elements of the brand marks and are to be utilized for things such as packaging, social media, and cards. The color palette for this project was, of course, inspired by olive oil; however, it was a sweet touch to keep the femininity of the brand by adding in the color pink. I wanted to evoke a sense of calmness to the brand.
